Aplicaciones iOS 4 veces más rápidas con Adobe AIR 2.7

Adobe acaba de anunciar una actualización del SDK de AIR, la versión 2.7, que incluye nuevas características para aplicaciones de escritorio y móviles Android, BlackBerry e IOS. Entre sus principales caracteristicas está el mejor rendimiento en las aplicaciones AIR para iOS que las hace hasta 4 veces más rápido en el modo de la CPU.

Flash Player 10.3 en Adobe Labs

El día de hoy se ha publica en labs una beta de Flash Player 10.3 con interesantes características enfocadas al desarrollo de aplicaciones y la protección de datos.

Dentro de dichas características se encuentran: Medición de Media, Cancelación Acústica, Integración con el control de privacidad del navegador, panel de control nativo, notificaciones de auto-actualización para Mac OS.

A continuación una breve descripción de dichas características:

Medición de Media — La medición de video hecha fácil. Ahora con esta característica los desarrolladores podremos implementar métricas de video con un par de líneas de código. Soluciones tipo Analytics podrán aprovechar las nuevas APIs abiertas para implementar fácilmente métricas de video sin importar el protocolo que se este utilizando.
Cancelación Acústica — Flash Player 10.3 permite a los desarrolladores crear experiencias colaborativas en tiempo real con gran calidad de audio como telefonía, chats integrados con voz y aplicaciones para conferencias grupales. Ahora los desarrolladores tendremos acceso a cancelación acústica, supresión de ruidos, detección de actividad de la voz y compensación para diferentes niveles de entrada del micrófono. Seguramente a más de uno se le ocurrirá algo interesante con esta característica.
Integración con los controles de privacidad del navegador para el manejo de almacenamiento local — Flash Player 10.3 se integra controles para el manejo del almacenamiento local dentro de las opciones de privacidad de los navegadores dentro de Mozilla Firefox 4, Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 y superiores, y en futuras versiones para Safari y Chrome.
Panel de Control Nativo — Flash Player 10.3 integra un panel de control nativo para las opciones de privacidad, seguridad y almacenamiento local. Ahora los usuarios de Windows, Mac, y Linux podremos acceder a las opciones de Flash Player directamente desde el panel de control o preferencias del sistema de las computadoras.
Notificaciones de auto-actualización para Mac OS — Flash Player 10.3 incluye soporte automático para las actualizaciones de software en Mac OS, facilitando las actualizaciones a los usuarios de esta plataforma.

En Adobe Labs podemos descargar esta versión y empezar a probar las opciones incluídas.

Hace unas horas finalizó el Connect del sorteo navideño de 3 libros y 3 suscripciones mensuales a Video2brain. Gracias a todos que asistieron.

Para realizar el sorteo preparé una pequeña aplicación al estilo de “la ruleta de la fortuna”.

Una vez realizado el sorteo los tres ganadores fueron:

Los tres ganaron una “biblia” de Actionscript (a elegir entre AS, Flex o AIR) y una suscripción completa de 30 días a Video2brain.

En la primera parte del Connect hice una explicación del código utilizado en la construcción de la aplicación. (y demostrar que el sorteo no estaba amañado jeje)

Dadas las fechas Navideñas en las que nos encontramos que menos que dar un pequeño regalo a los miembros del grupo. Los regalos que daré serán tres libros de la serie “Biblia” junto con tres suscripciones de un mes al portal de videotutoriales Video2brain.

Estos tres regalos los sortearé entre los miembros del grupo, así que para entrar en el sorteo únicamente has de estar registrado y dejar un comentario ya sea en el grupo de Facebook o en el de Adobe.

El sorteo lo haré antes de finalizar el año, y los tres ganadores podrán elegir cual de los tres libros prefieren. En cuanto a las suscripciones de Video2brain regaladas, son suscripciones que darán acceso total a todo el catálogo de videotutoriales durante 30 dias a partir de la realización del registro, que puede ser a partir de enero.

Ya está disponible una nueva versión de Adobe Flash Catalyst para descargar y probar desde los Labs de Adobe. La versión Beta 2.

Esta versión trae unas interesantes mejoras y novedades, tales como:

Rendimiento más rápido. Un aumento notable en el rendimiento sobre la beta 1
Mejorada de interfaz gráfica, más fácil de usar para el usuario.
Importar archivos de soporte de vídeo. Controles de reproducción estándar o personalizados.
Efectos de sonido. Añadir efectos de sonido a las interacciones.
Más componentes. Tales como deslizadores, botones de radio, el panel de desplazamiento, etc..
Más interacciones. Especifique una dirección URL para abrir durante una interacción, reproducir un vídeo, etc..
Exportar a AIR. Exportación de proyectos que se ejecutan fuera del navegador con Adobe AIR.
Aceleración de movimiento. Definir la aceleración de movimiento para una animación más fluida.
Filtros. Múltiples filtros para modificar los gráficos como la adición de sombra, brillo, Blur, etc…
Los modos de mezcla. Seleccionar cómo los objetos se mezclan con otros objetos.
Contenido Accesible. Crear un archivo SWF accesibles que pueden ser utilizados por los discapacitados visuales.
SWF control. Ejecutar un archivo SWF desde un frame específico.
Las opciones de salida del SWF. Crear un archivo SWF que se despliegue, redistribuible y tiene fuentes incrustadas.
